hey twisted i just finished running 3dmark06 on default settings. my score was:

10180 3dmarks

SM2.0 score: 4788

HDR/SM3.0 score: 4874

CPU score: 2154

that is with default clocks for both cpu and gpu aswell as ram and mobo. everything is factory stock.

thats pretty sweet, im not shure why 1950xtx is performing so much bader then nvidia 8800gts 320 in 3dmark, i guess its because it runs so hot and driver issues maybe. in actual game tests tough, they are about equal, cus urs only have 320mb. your cpu is the model above mine, and ugot alittle higher score there too.

when i did my test everuthing was stock too, i'll overclock it and see how many points i can squeeze out

allrite panther after some overclocking i reached these scores at best

CPU: 2.56ghz (stock 2.13)
GPU: 688/1098 (stock 648/999)

SM2.0 Score: 2663
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2952
CPU Score: 2214

Totalt: 6748 (+ 567 points from stock)

only "mod" used was to remove side of chassi and put there a 25cm table fan at full speed pointed to the mb,cpu and gpu ;P

nice, i will try and clock mine later tonight or somethin. also twisted i might get better performance from my card because its factory overclocked.

also the memory of you video card only matters if your running a very high resolution on your monitor. so 320 is fine for my 19inch widescreen.

So you have no monitor, if I read that right? Must be pretty dang tricky to post then. I guess practice pays off...

Might want to think about upgrading your RAM for sure, most of it can be had for cheap these days. I'd upgrade mine, if it weren't the stupid RAMBUS type. Ghetto, outdated, expensive, unstable, slow, did I mention expensive? I need a new mobo like Ben Affleck needs sexuality counseling.

allrite, factory overclock shouldnt help really, they've just done it for those who dont know how to do it themselves, and to still have warranty.

yea im aware of that, im running a standard 19" with 2ms response, so i will never go higher then 1280x1024.

anyways im looking for a new gpu after xmas, i think ill be going for the hd3870 turbo version, because:

hd3870: 189euro
hd3870 x-turbo III: 209euro
geforce8800gt 512mb: 209euro
geforce8800gts 512 (the new one): 329euro

i can afford all of these, but i want money over for other stuff then only a gpu, and a geforce 8800gt may perform better but the cooling solution isnt really good, it operates at about 90 degrees celsius and my motherboard supports crossfire, so ill go for the x turbo radeon i think.

It's absolutely not a good idea to buy an older G80 8800GTS 320MB or 640MB, since they're history and have much lower performance than the newer models. 20 euros (about ) seems a lot for an overclock which you could probably do yourself in 5 minutes, unless it's 100MHz higher with some exquisite aftermarket cooling. Then you could save the money for your second card.

Those integrated video cards are crap. Not only are they extremely slow, but in a lot of cases they don't even display things correctly. Even with a cheap sub-0 video card you would see huge improvements.

lol sorry but not really, 915g or better intergrated gfx solutions will whoop the geforce 400 around in circles.

but for the most part in any situation intergrated will not out perform dedicated gfx solutions

I had a piece of crap 32MB onboard gfx card, and somebody loaned me a piece of crap PCI graphics card, and just that made a huge difference. I suppose it could have been partially due to the fact that the onboard card was using 32 precious megabytes of my paltry 256 megabytes of RAM. If your integrated card uses main system memory, that's another bonus to going with a non-integrated solution.

hehe yea, thats one badass system ^; i'll see if i can get near your scores in 3d mark when ive changed cpu cooler to this

Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme, pared with a

Scythe S-Flex 120mm, and

Arctic cooling MX-2 cooling paste

the ultra 120 extreme is supposedly the king of all cpu coolers to date, it managed to cool a intel quadcore extreme running at 4ghz stable, reaching a max of 57 degress, now i have a core 2 duo but it should be able to reach even higher clocks ;P

im also selling my radeon x1950xtx to a friend and instead im buying this

Gecube HD3870 512mb gddr4 X-Turbo III, not as powerfull as you ultra but still rather powerfull ;P
